1. Lalbagh Fort:

One of the highly visited places around Dhaka city. It is carrying architectural  beauty of Mughal times. At first it was named after Emperor Aurangzeb. Later on the construction work was taken away by the Emperor Shaista Khan which Aurangzeb’s son started. Finally it get well renowned by the name “Lalbagh Fort”. It is located at Lalbagh, old Dhaka. Now it has became a museum where Mughal paintings have displayed and symbols of that time can be enjoyed by everyone.

2. Ahsan Manzil:

City’s wealthiest landowner built this palace in 1872. It was destroyed by tornado but it has been reconstructed again and became more elegant than the previous one. It is located in Islampur, Old Dhaka at the bay of Buriganga. One can feel the Mughal times by visiting this place

3. Parliament Building:

It is located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka which was designed by the renowned architect named Louis Khan. The construction started in 1964, originally commissioned by the Pakistani when Bangladesh was a part of East Pakistan. This is one of the finest architectural beauty of Bangladesh which is also renowned as the largest legislative complex of the world. You can also visit the park behind the Parliament as well as there’s a beautiful lake to visit. 

4 Dhakeshwari Temple:

5 Bangladesh National Museum:

This museum is located near the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. It has 46 Gallery with up to 83 thousands of monuments and ideograph. This museum has started its journey in 1913 and kept collecting precious things from different times. It has a rich collection of sculptures as well. It remains open almost everyday except the Govt. holiday and Thursday.

6 Star Mosque:

This mosque has been named according to it’s decoration. The whole mosque is covered with decorative mosaic stars. It’s been a tourist place for everyone since 18th century. Mughal architectural style can be seen in it though it has been altered later. This is one of the most visited places in Dhaka.

It tells the history of Bangladesh. This museum presents how Bangladesh was born and the war history of 1971. Getting freedom from Pakistani military after 9 months long war wrote a new history for Bangladesh. Here it showcases all the proud moments and the events of the war. Sonargaon:

10 National Martyrs Memorial:

  1. This monument is located at Savar, 35km away from Dhaka. It is also known as “Jatiyo Sriti Shoudho”. This has been built for those valiant sons and daughters who have sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom for Bangladesh. The monument has been designed by architect Moinul Hossain. It covers almost 84 acres area with a green belt of about 24.7 acres. It seems one single structure from far away. However, it has seven standing isosceles triangular concrete plates. Some graves of the martyrs and a huge water body appears at the front side of the monument.
